In fact, the Qur'an recognizes the dissent to its teaching and appeals to its adherent to deal with it in a civil manner. It promotes the idea that a positive response and a decent rebuttal are powerful enough to convert a worst enemy into a friend. The Qur'an does not seek revenge of those who indulge in or anti-Prophet anti-God rhetoric. It prohibits its follower to apply pressure or intimidation for changing the hearts of people. Please refer the verse 41/34 quoted above.
Our response to such insults and humiliation should be based on the Divine Teaching of The Holy Qur'an and the practice of the Prophet (s.a.w.s). We should rise above our emotion to use this moment to educate others about the Prophet in an objective manner. We should use the opportunity to demonstrate true human value of patience and persuasion, which are the teachings of the Prophet. We need to go back to study the Divine Book, the Holy Qur'an and the life of the Prophet in its original, to develop a better understanding of his character and teachings as well as his mission in the world. The Qur'an regard him mercy to mankind that includes every human being including the Dane's.
Anyone who studies The Qur'an objectively can understand that blasphemy or ridiculing the Messengers and Prophets is not a new phenomenon. Every Messenger of ALLAH has to deal with the hostile disbelievers. Even during his life time, Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.s) faced such odds. It is mentioned in many verses of the Qur'an. I found specific instructions for the Prophet and his companions and it will remain the directives for all the time for Muslims. Here is one from Chapter 4/46:
It is quite impossible to translate exactly the heavenly words of the Holy Qur'an, but according to my understanding, the translation would be as under.
“And among those who became Jews, they used to lift the words out of their context and say: ‘WE heard, but we could not apply'. And they say to The Prophet, ‘Hear and you may not hear'. And they say “Raina” with a twist of their tongues, as a slander to your religion. And instead of it, if they would say, ‘We hear and will pay heed, and listen to us', and instead of “Raina” , if they would use word “Unzurna" , means and wait for us to understand, it would indeed have been better for them, and more upright. But ALLAH has rejected them because of their refusal to acknowledge the truth – so, very few out of them will accept the reality and will become believers.”
