DOES QUR'AN TEACH COMMUNILISM?

Objection 6: It is on Chapter 39 Verse 64, the translation follows:

"Say, ‘Is it then, something other than ALLAH that you bid me to worship, O you who are unaware (Jahiloon)?"

Like other verses this one is also very clear in expression. Unfortunately people speaking languages other than Arabic have come to believe that Allah means the God of Muslims. Etymologically the word is a compound of two words - ‘AL’ and’ ILAH’. ‘AL’ is the equivalent of definite article ‘the’ in English and ‘ILAH’ means god or deity. The compound of both the words AL+ILAH becomes ALLAH. In English it means 'The God' or The Deity. The Qur’an uses this word for the only Creator, Master, Sustainer and Cherisher of all creation, visible or invisible things of the entire universe. HE may be addressed as The GOD, Eishwar, Akaal, Prabhu or Khudawand as one may like. The instruction for this is in Chapter 7 Verse 180:

"And to ALLAH belongs the beautiful names, so invoke HIM by them. And leave those who belie or distort or deny HIS names, for what they do, they will soon be requited."

It is a different matter that the Muslims seldom act according to this Verse. They do not prefer any other word for GOD except ALLAH and become allergic if other words are used.

As regards to another word “Jahiloon” used in verse in question, the Creator and Master of the person, who calls people to worship deities other than the Real Creator, Master and Cherisher of the entire universe, is calling him ignorant, devoid of factual knowledge (Jahil). Every sensible person would regard him devoid of intellect.

Objection 7: It is on Chapter 9 Verse 123, the translation follows:

"O you have attained to faith, fight against the deniers of the truth, who are pressure groups skirting you (Yaloonakum) and let them find in you firmness. And know that ALLAH is with those who are conscious of HIM"

The whole Chapter 9 ‘Al-Tawbah’ (The Repentance) mostly deals with matters of warfare. The Qur’an is such a Guide Book from The Creator of the Universe that contains instructions on all kinds of affairs for every person - male or female, ruler or the subjects, friend or foe. One must judge which instruction is meant for which person and what its purpose is! The instructions regarding warfare are meant for the rulers, the army commanders and soldiers. They are not meant for common men, women, aged persons or children. By common sense we can assume that instructions meant for servants of a household will have no relevance for the guests of the house.

The verse contains instructions for the society of the faithfuls, the rulers of such lands or the soldiers and commanders of the army that they should fight the groups that have surrounded them from all sides, creating an atmosphere of war. The instruction is very specific pointing out the enemy forces that had tightened the noose round the faithfuls. Words in this verse “Yaloonakum minal Kuffare” means those from amongst the infidels who are pressure groups encircling you to attack. The word “Yaloonakum” has stressed importance here. If some Muslims take liberty to deduce the meaning as they wish then how could they ignore the word “Yaloonakum”!
