QUR'AN REPLIES TO OBJECTIONS

Objection 11: It is on Chapter 66 Verse 9, the translation follows.

"O Prophet, strive hard against the deniers of the truth and the hypocrites, and be firm with them. And if they do not repent, their goal shall be hell - and how vile a journey’s end!"

This order is very much clear. It is to the Holy Prophet. It is a proof of his soft heartedness. He is advised to be tough. There is no physical action in firmness. If it is taken like that, the next two verses present a strange topic. Both the verses are for our notice that the wife of Prophet Noah and the wife of Prophet Lot will suffer as it is the matter of ideology and noble deeds of a person. The close relationship of being a husband or a wife cannot serve as substitute for faith and good deeds. And the last verse also clearly informs us with reference to the wife of the Pharaoh that she had won GOD’s pleasure through her right beliefs, sincere devotion and noble deeds while she was living under most unfavorable conditions.

Present day Muslims must learn a lesson from these verses .By virtue of being born in a Muslim family and sporting Muslim name, one can cheat the society he lives in, but he or she can please The GOD only through sincere faith and pious life. No relation with any person will suffice to win GOD’s pleasure. One must be sincerely faithful and gently in behavior to be a true Muslim.

In the verse in question, the Prophet is not given any instruction to use violence against the hypocrites who had increased in number in Madinah and attended the prayers led by the Prophet himself. Though the Prophet knew them well yet he did not take any action against them except admonition through the Book of The GOD.

Objection 12: It is on Chapter 41 Verse 27, the translation follows.

"WE shall most certainly give those who are bent on denying the truth, a taste of suffering severe, and WE shall most certainly requite them according to the worst of their deeds."

This statement comes from the Master, the Creator, the Lord of the mankind. Every human being must think over seriously what is it that results in his Master’s displeasure to such an extent. As regards the Muslims, they might come under its grip. They must also know it clearly and reform themselves in time. The subject is not about punishing any group or community. Only the Master of the human beings can punish them and we all have to stand in HIS court one day.

Objection 13: It is on Chapter 41 Verse 28, the translation follows.

"The requital of ALLAH’s enemies will be the hell-fire, in it will they have an abode of immeasurable duration as an outcome of their having knowingly rejected OUR messages."

The topic is continuing from the preceding verse. The Master of the mankind is warning them that HIS punishment is harsh. All human beings including the Muslims must fear the dire consequences and reform themselves. What they have to do and what they have to shun, is stated well in HIS last Book - the Qur’an. A faithful life according to it with contributions to other human beings, a life of high morals with consciousness of accountability to HIM is loved by The GOD. On the other hand the life devoid of faith, full of corruption, tarnishing human values, ill morals and carelessness for the accountability, will result in severe punishment on the day of final Judgment.

Objection 14: It is on Chapter 9 Verse 111 the translation follows.

"Behold, ALLAH has bought of the believers their lives and their possessions, promising them paradise in return, they fight in ALLAH’s cause, and slay, and are slain: a promise which in truth HE has willed upon HIMself in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur’an. And who could be more faithful to his covenant than ALLAH? Rejoice then in the bargain which you have made with HIM: for this is the triumph supreme."

At the first glance, it reminds us that the Lord of the Universe had made such a promise in HIS previous Books, the Torah and the Gospel also. The Jews claim that it is their holy Book whereas it is the Book of ALLAH. Similarly the Christians also claim that the Bible is their book while it is the Book of ALLAH. The tragic fact is that both the books do not exist in its pristine original form. What we find is the translations of the translations without the original wordings. The third Book is Al-Qur’an which the Muslims claim as their Book. In reality it is also the Final Book of the LORD of the Universe; Who has made an inherent arrangement for its preservation in its original form and made it available in every nook and corner of the earth.

We have discussed sufficiently in detail what ‘Qitaal Fi Sabeelillah’ means. It is facing the war in the way of ALLAH after conveying the Message of ALLAH fully and after sufficient patience against the atrocities and even migration. Those who have sacrificed their lives in such wars, fulfilling all the conditions in Jihad in the way of ALLAH, their Lord is promising them a reward. HE had made similar promises earlier in HIS Books. This verse contains nothing of violence by anyone against anyone else. It has just the promise of ALLAH to HIS servants fulfilling all the conditions.
