THANKS
TO A NATION AND ITS CITIZENS |
- Lot
of research work is going on in the US under many
institutions on Islamic History. According to me,
what is being studied is the history of the political,
cultural and social affairs of the Arabs, Turks, Tatars,
Mughals etc who hardly ever had an ideal Islamic society
after the departure of the Prophet and his first rank
followers.
-
Islam
is not a religion which one inherits by birth,
nor is it some sort of baptism. It is the name
of conviction and commitment to a code of conduct
which should be adhered to in day to day life.
As we find in The Qur'an in the case of son of
Prophet Noah who was rejected by ALLAH and destined
to Hell. It is said in chapter 11
verse 46: “ALLAH
said: ‘O Noah, your son is not worthy of
you. His conduct is unrighteous…’”
-
Similarly
in chapter
66 verses 10 and 11, the wife of
Prophet Lot, and the wife of Prophet Noah had been
condemned to hell on the ground of their moral failings.
And wife of Pharaoh, who acted righteously, was promised
reward by ALLAH. In this matter, the fundamental verses
is 33 in chapter 31, which says,
"O
mankind, be conscious of your Sustainer, and stand
in awe of the Day on which no parent will of any avail
to his child, nor a child will in the least avail
his parent ....."
-
According
to the Qur'an, Islam is not the name of a cult, nor
does it envisage any nation. It is an open call to
all, all the time, at all the places. Of course new
definitions had been added to it by its heavily politicized
followers with a view to take revenge of their defeats
at all levels from the West. Today, Muslims are not
a homogenous group. They are divided into many nations
and sects and sub-sects with heavy differences and
infighting among them. They made it Shia Islam and
Sunnah Islam. And now there are many off-shoots. In
such perplexing situation today, one cannot understand
the real message and call of Muhammad unless he refers
to The Book without relying on biased interpretations
of prejudiced scholars.
-
Another
wrong concept earnestly harbored by most of the Muslims
is that they have got the paradise reserved for them
while the others will land in hell. This is also categorically
denied by the Qur'an. Instead, the criteria are provided
by The God, Most Merciful and Benevolent in chapter
2
verse 62: "Indeed
those who believe, and those who are Jews, Christians
and Sabians, anyone who believes in The God and the
Last Day, and acts righteously, will receive their
rewards from their Lord, and no fear will they have
and neither will they grieve". Similar
thing is said in 5/69,
please refer.
-
There
is an urgent need to blow up such myths about Islam,
Muslim, Muhammad, Islamic history etc in the light
of the Qur'an itself, so that the Muslims as well
as the world could understand and respond to the real
call of Prophet Muhammad.
