DOES
QUR'AN TEACH COMMUNILISM?
|
Objection
5: It is on Chapter 9
Verse 73, the translation of the full verse
follows:
"O
Prophet, strive hard (do Jihad) against
the deniers of the truth and hypocrites, and
be firm with them. And (if they do not repent),
their goal shall be hell, and how vile a journey’s
end!"
The
commandment is to endeavor, to struggle
or strive hard, and not to kill one another
or indulge in rioting or loot. We had discussed
on this word ‘Jihad’
earlier. We know how unfortunately the Muslims
by their political and other activities
have degenerated the term Jihad into holy
war. The word ‘Munafiq’,
means the hypocrite and double standard
elements in the Muslim society itself.
Another
word ‘Kafir’ has already
been dealt with in detail. In the Holy Qur’an
it also means disobedience of Divine Injunctions
even by the Muslims. When a Muslim fails
to act upon the teachings of the Holy Qur’an
and its practical, the system of The Prophet,
his failure is also termed as ‘Kufr’,
ungrateful action. For further details we
quote here Chapter 5 Verse 5:
"………..
and whoever will disobey orders (Yakfur)
side by side he is in faith (Bil-Eimane),
in vain will be all his deeds, for in
the life to come he shall be among the
lost."
There
are and have been some Muslim groups who
wish to perpetuating war-like situation,
declared the followers of other religions
as Kafirs. While if one refers to Ahadees
(sayings of the Prophet), he will find in
the famous book titled ‘Saheeh
Muslim’, a saying: “Between
faith and Kufr, there is a point,
to leave daily prayers, ‘Namaaz’.”
The truth is that today more than 80 percent
of the Muslims are not offering Namaaz
daily. In which category shall we place
them!
The
term ‘Munafiq’ deals
with those believers who are hypocrites,
not sincere in their daily life with the
Divine Injunctions, not sincere in profession
of Islam, irrespective of their offering
obligatory prayer even in the congregation
led by the Prophet (PBUH) himself. For reference
we reproduce below a verse from the Holy
Qur’an:
"Behold,
the hypocrites (Munafiqeen) seek
to deceive ALLAH - the while it is HE
who caused them to be deceived by themselves.
And when they rise to prayer, they rise
reluctantly, only to be seen and praised
by people, remembering ALLAH but seldom."
|
However,
it is quite evident that the hypocrisy cannot be redressed
by killing them, but by their effective ideological
training till they realize that a Muslim must be firm
in ideology and should act according to the commandments
of Holy Qur’an in his day to day life.
This
verse addresses the Prophet (PBUH) himself to strive
hard for redressing of those who have degenerated
into hypocrites and those Muslims, who are not following
the Commandments in all sincerity and so, can become
deniers of faith. There is a warning also from their
Lord. Similarly it carries a message for the Muslims
who follow the Divine Commands. They should be given
training in all strictness and be disciplined. Some
pseudo scholars, however, on the instruction of the
conscienceless rulers, might have misinterpreted the
verse to justify force and violence against the opponents
threatening their kingdom. It will be grave injustice
to blame the Heavenly Verses of our Sustainer for
the misdeeds of Muslims.
